Greetings everyone!
We are organizing the European Spring Sustainability Gathering (SSG?) for the MSLS alumni to strenghten our network and get together and scale up our collective potential of sustainability change agents. This weekend get-together is being designed to encourage dialogue & networking between Alumni, to progress our 'Framework' and broader sustainability knowledge, create, relax and have FUN!
The event has been developed following a survey of a smaller group of Alumni that identified key needs and wants from such an event. These are listed below.
The event is open to all Alumni, but we are especially encouraging our European colleagues to join us, in order to reduce the event's carbon footprint. Obviously if anyone else is in the UK or traveling through and can join us then you would be very welcome. Also, forward it to other people who who may be interested in collaborating with us in this gathering.
A quick recap on what we have so far:
- It is going to be relaxing, with some planned activities but a lot of time for creativity
- We hope to have a number of interesting external speakers to bring other perspectives to our dialogues
- Though it's mainly for MSLS alumni, we encourage you to forward it to people who would be interested in this gathering
- It is expected that the venue will be within 3 hours (by train) from London (in the countryside - on or near the often sunny southern coast of England). The location will be at the Seven Sisters www.sevensisters.org.uk
- The maximum cost per day (food and accommodation) will be less than £50
- The accommodation will most probably be shared - Youth Hostel/Bunk House/ Holiday Cottage/Yurt.
- Transport costs extra (expected to be no more than £60)
- It is going to be from Friday 24 to Sunday 26, April.
- Activities will use some of the creational skill sets of the alumni, including the development of workshops, meditation and the enjoyment of the countryside.
- There will be music, poetry, singing and dancing and lots of laughter.
- Sorry there will be no Marratech video conferencing facilities!!
